ABOUT US: Welcome

Meet Amy

I'm Amy. I started formulating body care products to use in my massage practice. As a massage therapist, I spend a lot of time in contact with clients' skin. I wanted products that were clean and natural, but would help keep skin supple (my clients and mine!) and protect against the assault of winter conditions here in the Pacific Northwest. Soon enough, my clients started asking if they could buy my products to take home. And that's why I started Solace Body.

Our Process

I developed the formula for my deeply moisturizing hand and body lotion after extensive testing and tweaking on my own extremely sensitive skin. I personally mix every small batch by hand (in a fully sanitized workspace) to ensure that you're getting precisely the right ratio of nourishing natural emollients (like Shea butter and oil of avocado, apricot, and coconut) in every tin of Solace Body cream.

FAQs

What are the ingredients in Solace Body cream?

Solace Body cream is made with a proprietary blend of Shea butter, natural oils (apricot kernel, avocado, vegetable, coconut), aloe leaf extract, emulsifying wax, stearic acid as a thickener, Optiphen as a preservative, and essential oil or fragrance, depending on the scent.

Our products are free of parabens, formaldehyde, pthalates, dimethicone, and artificial colors or dyes.

Are your products free of parabens, formaldehyde, pthalates, dimethicone, or artificial colors or dyes?

Yes. Solace Body products are high-quality, small batch creams formulated  without parabens, formaldehyde, pthalates, dimethicone, or artificial colors or dyes.

What is stearic acid?

Stearic acid is a natural long chain fatty acid found in plants and animals. It is used as a thickener in natural beauty and skin care products in place of harsh chemical ingredients.

What is optiphen?

Optiphen is a paraben-free and formaldehyde-free humectant and preservative used in many natural formulations. Optiphen protects against mold and bacteria.

Why do your natural products need preservatives?

Preservatives are essential, especially with natural products. They guard against the formulation of microbes that can spoil the products and make us sick.

Is it safe to use Solace Body cream on new tattoos? What about my face?

Many of my clients have found my creams to be the ideal balm to soothe newly tattooed skin and promote healing. *I have now added INK LOVE to my product line. This is a specific tattoo conditioner with the added benefits of Calendula extract.

With regard to your face, everyone's skin is different, so I advise testing on a small spot on your face before going all in. But many of my clients tell me they use this product on their faces and are quite happy with the results. *I have now added a Rejuvenating Face Cream with added benefits of Carrot, Sea Buckthorn & Chamomile extracts. And for more mature skin try my +Bakuchiol which acts like natures retinol!

Can I book a massage with you?

I have recently retired from Massage Therapy to focus on Solace Body
